I was just watching an old video on youtube of Steve Jobs introducing the iMac and he said this is what the "i" stands for in Apples products:

internet
individual
inform
inspire

Just found this interesting. Comments are welcome lol I'm curious where this conversation starter will lead to, ha!

This is true. I honestly hope Apple continues to grow in the corporate market, since I will soon be there someday after school in the computer science field :)

Well with so many corporations starting to take on the iPad, i'm sure it can only lead to better things in the work environment :D

If anything the iPhone,iPad and iPod have attracted a lot more people to Apple and buying a Mac.

Especially true if the figures that suggest the iPad has now taken 7% of the global computer market are correct!

My bets are on an interesting 5 years for Apple. With the rumoured products and Lion, but also with Steve Jobs himself and his health.

It happened to me. One day I was blissfully ignorant of the wonders of Apple, carrying a Zune, and annoyed by the Mac/PC commercials. The next day DH bought me an iPad, and the "oh the displays are gorgeous on a Mac but I'd never spend THAT for a comp" turned into "I want an iMac for Christmas".

iPad…the perfect gateway drug to a Mac.

With the release of the original G3 iMac, the 'i' was reportedly representing internet. When the eMac was introduced, the 'e' was for Ethernet. From there it is marketing as stated earlier.

That's actually where I got the topic from. I watched the video on youtube where they introduced the G3 iMac and in his keynote he gave the reasons for the i, that i wrote in the OP.

I always thought the "e" in eMac stood for "education".
