I recently bought a single 2GB stick of RAM for my PowerMAC G5 2.3GHz duel core. It's not showing up under my hardware description under memory. I read a couple places that these need to be paired, just wanted to confirm this before I buy another stick of RAM.

Yes...if you have a Powermac G5 2.3ghz "Dual-Core" (not dual-processor)...then yes...ram needs to be installed in pairs.

Also...make sure you are buying ram that is compatible with Mac's.

As Nick advises modules need to be in matched pairs. Matched means same brand and capacity so you will have to get another 2GB module. It appears you have 2x512MB modules in now, place the 2x2GB in position 1 and 512 following.

G5's are very fussy about having low density memory so trust you purchased it from a Mac dealer and not a PC shop. Should match this:-

This is what I'm hoping as well. I did mention "Mac compatible ram" in my earlier post...so hopefully everything is good.:)
