Look at the bottom right hand corner of the side panel, it says ...
" Built by McBie . Patent Pending " :)

Seriously .... my guess would be IBM ( Jurassic Park )

Now seriously, I have worked with disks of that size when I was at school on a Univac main frame.
Think they were 20 MB and the disk cabinet was about the same size.
The disk platters were visible and about the size of the 15" wheel.
You could see the heads move in and out at a speed I could still follow with my eyes.
Programs were loaded using punched cards of 80 columns .
The code was not printed on the punched cards so if you dropped your card deck of nearly 2000 cards ( lines of code ) ..... nightmare

Glory days.

Is it an IBM 355

That's about 6 megs of hard drive, not bad for the 1950s, so you could store one mp3 file on it, making it useless for iTunes party shuffle feature

You're not seeing the bigger picture, compress to 128 and you could get 3.

It would be perfect if you really liked that song though....

A better question would be, without using the internet to find out, how many people know what the "PAA" on the door stands for.

It's a hard disk drive back in 1956... with 5 MB of storage!

In September 1956 IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first 'SUPER' computer with a hard disk drive (HDD). The HDD weighed over a ton and stored a 'whopping' 5 MB of data.

PAA - Pan American Airways?

Yes PAA - Pan American Airlines, that became Pan Am, and then vanished from the skies in the early 90's due to bankruptcy.
They are back I believe though.

Yeah but under different ownership and not claiming rights to the original name or logo.
