I have 4 gig's of ram in my 24in 2009 imac and thinking of going to 8 gig which is the max on that machine.

I do not use the machine for much more then surfing, email and biz related stuff ( invoices, proposals, finances) and do watch tv shows and movies.

Will I notice difference and is it worth the money? All though doesn't look like it will be too much to add the ram.

Upgrading to 8 gig of ram probably won't provide you with much (or any) performance increase given your normal tasks. But if you feel the upgrade price for 8 gig isn't so much...then go for it.:)

One advantage would be the ability to allocate more ram to a virtual OS without crippling
the host OS.
