ip addresses

i have a dwl-122 wireless adapter onto my work network , but the adapter keeps assigning itself an ip address, instead of using dhcp as i have told it to, i am running panther , is it the adapter or the mac, any help thanks :eek:neye:

the adapter is using DHCP, thats where the adapter will get its address from so everything is as it should be

It could be the adapter. You might want to make sure that you have the latest driver.

If you are continually getting a self assigned IP, first disable the wireless adapter, then clear out your IP info.
After you have made sure that you have the latest driver, then go ahead and enable it again and try to pull an IP.
