Getting frustrated!

I'm down visiting some family in Florida, and I found a network to join. For the first 3 days, I couldn't connect at all whatsoever. But today I was browsing the options and I unchecked "Use Passive FTP Mode" and my wireless internet immediately joined and I could use the internet. However, when I went to hook up my Xbox 360 up so I could do Xbox Live, almost right when I plugged in the ethernet cable the internet disconnected from the internet. What happened! It was working for a minute!

Please help!

What do you mean by 'found'?

Is the network a family member or friend's network or a public network at an internet cafe or something?
