So for all of you who search the web at work, SSL might not save you? I don't know a whole lot about SSL other than it's encryption.

It's useful if you don't trust the network you're using. (eg. you're using a public wi-fi network) Not so useful if you don't trust the computer you're using. (eg. your're using a work compuer or your friend's computer.)

And it only secures the search itself, not the result links you follow.

Ah but what if the network you don't trust is the Google search itself? Even over SSL they will still take records of everything I search in google.
