It is nice that the new Mighty Mouse is out except for the cord. Until they make a bluetooth model I would like to know if you were to use another brand bluetooth mouse would you need to use their base and USB cable or can you just use the mouse with the blutooth in the computer? I hate wires.

I think you may have to use the base for recharging the mouse every now and then. Just for using the mouse, though, you wouldn't need the base at all, if you have bluetooth built in.
