Hi,
I just upgraded a G5 PPC to Leopard. Attached to the machine for storage only is a Western Digital 320 GB external hard drive.
Here's the first weird bit: When I start the machine, the external HD mounts successfully, but the disk and LED on the front won't stop spinning.
Second weird bit: When I try to eject the drive to shut it off, I get the message that the disk is in use and to try quitting applications.
Third weird bit: I can eject the drive on the second try with no problems. I don't run any files or applications from the drive, and I've turned off Time Machine for now. I'm really stuck on this one. can someone offer advice or help?
