How do i format and install mac os 9.1....

I have a imac g3 233mhz 32mb with mac cheetah 10.0.3, but that OS is to sluggish for this hardware I have a mac os 9.1 cd and would like to wipe the current os and install 9.1 fresh can someone help me.

If you have an install disk. Boot from the install media (insert the CD and reboot the system and hold down the C key, until the system starts reading the disk). Once the system has been from the CD, locate and run the disk first aid application. Use that application to wipe the disk clean. After which, you will run the OS installer application.
