well i finally got y hands on a copy of tiger...
its nice and all but i seem to have wiped out the php and web server install i enabled on my old panther OS.

I had Panther, and i could preview my php and mysql pages without a problem... then after i installed tiger i realizes that my php paged did not come up right, **** IE. Firefox nore Safari can open any of my php pages..

I get the foloowing error:

Unable to Access URL: "htp://localhost/~este/phptest/w0rd.php"

I can see the apache web server running properly at http://127.0.0.1

I am running Dreamweaver mx2004 and it still will not preview my pages properly, i can see them withn the applicaiton but if i want to preview my pages using IS FireFox, or safariu i get squat!!!

the instrucitons i had go as follows:
on the terminal these are the comments to enter... :
$ cd /etc/httpd
$ sudeo pico httpd.conf

this brings up the pico text editor:
on there i uncommented the following lines:
# LoadModule php4_module libexec/httpd/libphp4.sp
which now lokslike:
LoadModule php4_module libexec/httpd/libphp4.sp

and:
# AddModule mod_php4.c
which now looks like:
AddModule mod_php4.c

i used ctrl-o to save as and hit enter to save.
exit to quit the teminal
command+W closed the terminal

is thei correct? any other ideas as to why my php pages are not wrkign properly?

thanks

:doh:

nevermind i figured out a work around..
it appears everyting is working properly now...

I am able to see the apache webpage 127.0.0.1 so instead of entering http://localhost on dreamweaver when it asks to specify a url to be used when looking at my sites, I replcaed localhost with the ip address of the apache webserver it looks like this: http://127.0.0.1/~este/sites/phptest/

it works like a charm...

*im sure mostofyou already know that but for a pc user im pretty proud of myself for figuring this out lol
:D
