"Light On" for iPhone

Is there a setting where I can set the time the phone will remain "lit" before it goes back to black? When I need to write down someone's address or number, it goes black before I can get it written down. TIA.

for an iPhone 4 it is @; Settings/General/Auto-Lock/Choose 1,2,3,4,5, or Never
