3GS Isn't Taking or Recording Messages

Well, let me rephrase that. I haven't found a setting that I may have inadvertently turned off. Do I need to do a re-set?

Settings > general > reset > reset all settings....
(this WILL reset a lot of prefs)
Then call and
Leave yourself a mssg from another phone. To retrieve it you'll need to re enter your vm password. This method fixed mine.
