Setting default web browser

I've recently downloaded a new web browser (Firefox), and I want to know how to set it as being the default browser for my computer.
When I sign into MSN messenger, and I've got new e-mails, I click the link to read them. But the thing is, when I do that, Safari opens. I want it to be Firefox that opens. First of all, because it's better than Safari, and second because I have to type in the MSN URL to get to my mail box because Safari doesn't seem to recognise the URL that messenger sends to it... or something.

Anyway, how do I make Firefox my default browser?
I've had a look around, and I can't see anything that works.

Help? Please?

Bring up the Safari browser. Then go to Apple pull down. Select preferences -> General tab. Under default Web Browser, select from the drop down menu, the default browser you want.

I didn't think about going into Safari to do it.
Thanks a lot. That's a great help.
