Since I work for Progressive I thought this story was interesting and I actually know the Ben Sheridan refernced in the article...

Well it's patterned after auto insurance. So the liability portion would cover you if you hit someone/something and then you have the option of carrying comprehensive and collision which would cover the segway itself.
