Networking remote imacs

I have an Imac in Texas and one in New York that I want to network. One is on airport wireless and the other on linksys router. I have made several aborted attempts with no luck. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

You'll need to know the IP addresses, open ports on the routers & turn sharing on on the macs. Have you done any of that?

Go to IP Chicken - Whats my IP address? ip address lookup on both machines to get your IP addresses then read up on port forwarding. It's not n00b stuff but not rocket science either.

I don't recommend opening port unless you understand the security risks involved. If all you want to do is control one mac from the other and transfer files try team viewer
