Iphone Unlocking Question!

Hey guys...so im thinking of purchasing a phone through a different carrier and have a question regarding unlocking.

Say if i were to jailbreak and unlock the phone...if i then reformatted the phone to get rid of the jailbreaking and everything...

will the phone still be unlocked?

No, if you unlock your phone through Jailbreaking and were to restore the phone afterwards you would lose your unlock.
