Located in Whitehorse, YT in front of the Transportation Museum this restored Douglas DC-3 is claimed to be the worlds largest weather vane and needs as little as a 5 kmphr wind to turn her.
The plane has the false appearance that it is pointing into the sky, this is because I tried to get rid of its supporting pole.

Took this the other day with my 50mm 1.8. Chose to desaturate and leave a bit of the color on the bench to signify what to me looks like.. well, maybe someone here can figure out why I did that. I'm not sure if it works, and it also looks pretty much the same in B&W. I'll post both, feel free to critique/criticize. I never take offense.

iNoob: I love alleyway shots like that. Nice work.

MacYukon: Awesome.

Dougb: the spot colour should be in her hat. Great shot though.

Tiger Roach: do you really need anyone to tell you what a perfect shot that is? Send it to the tourism board already!

Great stuff this month guys.
I haven't been out with the camera in a while, until yesterday when I went to an Airshow and grabbed this. Shot at 450mm on my Minolta 7D. A nice mix of the old and new school, a Mustang P51 and an F-16 Starfighter, which was using virtually no power here while the 'Stang was full out. A split second later the F-16 fired up the afterburner and was gone!

I'm not entirely happy with this shot, but it's a gorgeous subject I never get tired of shooting: part of the Provincial Legislature building in Victoria BC right at twilight. It's lit up like that every night (till 1am).

The original isn't as soft-focus as this version -- this has been highly compressed for the web)

Did this in Pixelmator. The Apple logos are actually brushes that I imported into Pixelmator.

What do you guys think?

I'm thinking about doing another one, but with the Apple logo being the back ground gradient color, and the background being solid black- and then use a spot light effect to enhance the logo. But that's later.

Thanks Mutalation, and thanks Doug and Chas from earlier for the kind comments.

Yes, I can definitely recommend that part of the world for a nice vacation, especially for photography buffs. About the only time you will put your camera down is to sleep. ;D
