Question on Ed. Discount

I'm a recent grad (3 years ago) and am curious if I'm eligible for the Education discount? I selected my school and it took me straight to the school page with the discounts.

My brother has one more semester to go, and his school requires authentication when going to their Apple page.

Just wondering if it's something that I need to prove that I'm in school, or if alumni works, too.

I was able to get my iBook at a discount, I'm attending school in the fall, even though I haven't technically been accepted yet.

From my understanding Apple does do a check via the on-line store. I believe they call the school, when they verify your order.

I remember reading on the site somewhere that if you purchase under the educational discount and they find out that you are not eligible for it, they will charge your card for the full price.

In the UK, you can access the EDU store from a university IP. I don't know if it is the same in the US. In that case just hop along to your closest college, sweet talk the lady in the library to get 10 minute access on their machines and off you go. (BUT YOU REALLY SHOULDN'T DO THAT!)

Anyway ask your brother who is enrolled in college to get it for you.

I got mine just fine, my card wasn't charged for the full ammount and I just called apple today to ask. They told me that as long as I was trying to get into school and if anything came up i could prove at a later date or I could prove I was applying for that school that everything is ok. When I bought it there were no checks, it went through immediatly and I had my book a couple days later.
