Genuine Legal Unlock

Have just acquired an iPhone 4 this morning from a Vodafone store, therefore locked to Vodafone.

Does anyone know of any way to get the phone unlocked so that I can use my o2 sim in it?

They are selling them unlocked from Apple direct, but due to such short supply, the only one I could get hold of was a Vodafone locked one.

I'd rather have a locked iPhone than no iPhone at all

But will this be via jailbreaking?

Or can I unlock it without voiding the warranty?
