iPhone Family Plan Question

Hey all, question here.... So I have an iPhone 3g and am eligible to upgrade to the iPhone 4 right now. My plan was to get it and start a family plan with my brother who was also gonna get the iPhone 4. He is currently with Verizon and found out he can't get out of his contract until December of this year. So my question is, can I get the iPhone 4 now and stay on my current plan and then in December when his contract ends, change my contract to a family plan with him?

The only thing that may not be available is the Unlimited plan tho.... But yes you can convert to family Plan Anytime during Contract... I did the same
