I have a Mac Pro (Intel) with OS X 10.6.3. I also run Parallels 5.0 to have access to a Server where all our marketing files are stored. I can drag files off an on with not problem, however my boss uses a PC with Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 and when she goes to new folders I have created she gets the following errors. This all seems to have started when updating my OS from Leopard to Snow Leopard. Sample problems:
She cannot create a folder or save a file in any folder I create. This is the error she gets.
Error when creating a folder:Unable to create the folder "New Folder" Access is denied.
Error when saving a file: Word cannot save or create this file. Make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is not full, write-proteccted, or damaged.
My file sharing preferences on the Mac are as follows:
Windows Sharing in On
Share files and folders using SMB (Windows).
The Shared Folders Accounts are Read & Write
This is a big issue we need a solution to.
