Not only is it one of the biggest distributors of pirated content, but is probably the biggest distributor of viruses. There are actually some bots that monitor search entries, then kick back search results matching exactly what was entered. Downloading that hit gets you a virus masked as that hit. Seriously… try it if you never have. Enter some completely random garbage and you WILL get a hit.

My ex downloaded a virus about a week ago via Limewire due to not being careful with her downloads. But even breaking up Limewire will just disperse those 50 million illegal music downloaders onto other sites/programs.

Pirating is going to happen as long as people can't justify buying music for full price, and have a free option. Which will be always.
