Safari Lockups

I am experiencing HORRIBLE lock ups with the new version of safari in tiger. is the only hope i have of fixing this to do an archive install?

Mac Pro 8x3.0ghz 12gb ram 8800GT , MBP 2.16 2GB Ram 17 inch.
I am not having "lock-ups" but it is deffinatly slower with tiger, maybe related.

some people are having them and some aren't it seams random to me but i am one of the unlucky people on BOTH my powerbook and one of my PowerMacs :eek:neye:

Mine never locks up and it is faster than it was under Panther. I use Camino more than Safari on my PB though. On the other hand I use Safari on the mini and have never had it lock up.

Have you tried a different browser to see if the problem is general? I am not suggesting it as a solution but will help narrow down the problem to something in general being wrong or something specific to Safari. Do not use Shiira for this test though since it uses WebKit.

Ive used camino and FireFox and both are fine right now I am using the safari from panther and no problems i am running 1.2 and the updates don't show up in the update manger so could some one still on panther email me safari 1.3?

Which suggests that some add on for Safari does not like the version that comes with Tiger. Do you have any plugins you use in Safari?

only the PDF plugin ill try trashing that and see what happens

Nah, the PDF plugin is fine, I was thinking Pith Helmet or some such. I am out of ideas, sorry.
