Each member can post one photograph in this thread each month.
The desktop cannot be larger than 800x600.
Not only will posting inappropriate pictures get them deleted, it will also get you banned. This includes anything semi-lewd. This is a family forum if it's not PG then don't post it.

can we add that the picture must be from the month of May 2010 to the rules?

I think I took that out a while ago being that there is no way to really enforce members to follow it. But if others agree with you, we can add it back in.

Taken yesterday - I'm sorry but I have to share this and include 2 photos to explain what went on

I saw a peregrine on our garden room and manged to get a few shots at extreme zoom.
The next thing (after I had put the camera away), the bird flew off and I saw a pair of black ears, then a head appear up on the far edge of the roof.
They then disappeared suddenly as the cat fell off (!!), but it didn't give up and eventually got onto the roof to secure lunch.

I've tried to cut out any gorey bits

Cheers :)

Nice shot. Did you use milk or colored water?

I took this last night off my back patio...I pick a place in the sky, set a long exposure and cover the lens when I think I got something...kind of like fishing.

That cat looks like it is saying "what do you want?"

Beautiful bird though. (The Peregrine)

Shame the photos didn't come out better, but I realise now it was because I had the camera pressed firmly against a double glazed window to stop shake at such range, and that affected the quality.

I think the cat was lkeeping a wary eye out for the peregrine sitting in the trees above.

Cheers :)

this is Navy Pier in Chicago. Taken from the Ferris Wheel. Went there yesterday for the USO Armed Forces Day Celebration.

A fun shot from a Civil War reenactment we shot this weekend. The horses were pretty impressive!

Ok...let's try this one. I'm trying to figure out re-sizing in iPhoto, so if it's too big, feel free to edit or delete.

Thanks

Apparently I'm doing something wrong. I copied the img tag from photobucket and tried to paste in my reply...nothing. Any help??

When you paste the image tag, do you see [IMG] before and after? If so, delete those before clicking "OK". The forums automatically add those before and after, so you don't need them in your tag. :)

Yes, it was the only shot that was worth keeping out of about 150

Nice shot. Did you use milk or colored water?

I thought that bubble at the edge of the image kind of gave it away. >_>" Or maybe I just drink too much milk.

Milk, 2%. :D

The best kind of milk. ^-^"

Well I think it's an awesome shot and I'm kind of surprised that it only took you 150 shots to get that image. I would have guessed more.

I got a DSLR today (Nikon D3000) for graduation, my parents and I split the bill since my point and shoot Kodak's screen broke in April. This camera is my first attempt using something other than a point and shoot. Here is the third photo I took!
