On many failed attempt at running OS X on the mac I had made a complete copy of the hard drive on my eMac and sticking it in my PowerMac G4. It didnt work well at all. It takes ages to load up to the login screen or even for it to boot up! Now I'm just trying to install linux from a DVD buy holding down the C key at startup.

Additional info:
~The eMac was running at 10.4
~Before the PowerMac G4 had no OS it ran on 10.3
~The PowerMac had a 800 MHz Processor and 1 GB of RAM
~When I do get to the login screen on the PowerMac, I can choose the user and try to log in but it will never load

Thank you for who ever tries to help!

Linux has to be a PPC version. Hold down the C key before the chime...if that dose not work the option key and choose to boot from optical drive. You will have to reformat the drive in Linux. And you have a DVD rom drive in the G4.
