I can't seem to wake up that early anymore. When i was in high school that seem to be a breeze, but now i can't seem to wake up even at 11 am. Is it desirable to wake up that early? I feel like am wasting my life away because i sleep all the time.

If it means being able to maintain gainful employment in this economy, I'd be plenty motivated.

By 6:00 AM, I have been at work for an hour and am finishing up my breakfast prep so I can open at 6:30. I just have to be motivated to wake up at 3:30 AM, so I have to agree with cwa..I am plenty motivated to get up as it means keeping my job.

I'm live and awake by 6am everyday but Saturday. I has become a habit basically although I sill have to put my alarm clock on the other side of the room so I actually have to get up to turn it off and not just slam it when it goes off.

You and me both. The alarm clock has to be out of arm's reach or I'll be falling back asleep.

Mate as a truckie i can wake at anytime day or night, light a ciggie and can be on the road within 5 mins of my eyes opening. It comes 2nd nature now and if for some reason my alarm doesnt work, i can usually wake within 5 mins either side of the time i need to wake.
My in body alarm clock is say i need to wake at 4am i bang my head on the pillow 4 times and then as i am dozing i think 4am, and 99% of the time 5 mins either side and i will awaken from my slumber .....

Buy a dog and let it sleep beside you. At first light it is time to get up. Oh and try going to bed earlier eh? Better value than people and won't answer back either!

If you go to bed at a decent hour...getting up at 6am is much easier!;)

Sleep is ridiculous. I usually get about 8 hours a night, and even that isn't motivation enough to get up. If I could, I'd sleep probably til 11 or 12 most days. :)

I have to agree with tattooed...I have an internal alarm clock that wakes up the sleeping hard drive...I'm also a veteran that served 5 years in the military...so being in the army has me waking automatically, waking is the easy part for me...now going to sleep is totally different...

Don't get me wrong, I can wake up early, and my internal clock is impecable. I'd just rather stay in bed and sleep. speaking of sleep... I think it's time to head there now. :)

6 am, at certain times of year, is simply the best time of day. I'm often out walking with my dog at that hour, having rizzed at 5.30. Lying in bed is such a waste of a day. Having said all that, I'm usually off-air by 9.30 at night, so early mornings are not anything out of the ordinary.

Yes I'm a chef too. And yeah I know all about the 5am starts. But I only do a few of those. My work is mostly dinners and midnight-1am finishes. Yeah going to work in the dark is sure something not too many people do. But I agree if it keeps wages entering my bank account I'll do it.

I am also up every day early (3.50 a.m.), as it is my duty to work and feed the family.
That's all the motivation I need.

6AM to go for my morning jog. It sucks, I know, but the results are addicting.

Being in the Army, I get up real early and run for miles and get screamed at :[.

Sometimes we get the luxury of being allowed to stay awake for days on end.
