As excited as I am for this game, my girlfriend won't shut up about it.. She's a huuuuge FF fan..

I like it, but I'm not hardcore about it.

Looks stunning though. I'll probably get it in the near future.

Picked it up for the PS3 last night. 1 disc FTMFW.

Looks good, plays well for the first 15 mintues I've played so far. I'm not such a fan of it being as linear as has been reported though.

I'm about 2 hours in and I am really enjoying it. I like the new battle system and the game itself is visually stunning.

After the initial play, I think I'm going to wait until my new TV arrives to play anymore. It should be here the end of this week though.

After FF IX it all went a bit downhill for me. I am waiting for FF VII and FF IX to hit iPhone... I will be so happy.

But yes, the 360 version has 3 DVDs (PS3 is on a BluRay), it's supposed to be big. Apparently the Xbox version does not look as good, which is a rarity.

FF7 was the best game they ever made. Followed by 8, at least IMO.

The originals were good too, I even bought the FF2 remake for PSP.

I just hope that the improved graphics/fighting system doesn't take away from the game itself. You know, kind of like how people in Hollywood use a lot of special effects to make up for a poor plot.

I hated 8, but 9 was amazing. I love how FF unites and divides people at the same time! :D

The last FF I really remember playing hardcore style was 7, after that I kinda lost track and then got all confused with the online one and the other ones.. I might pick this one up, give it a whirl

I played Final Fantasy VII and VIII religiously. Deep story, and great twists and gameplay. FFIX lost me. Just wasn't very interesting to me...played Xenogears, instead.

FFX was a great, great game, but not quite as good as VII. Might put it either on par, or just below VIII. Didn't play XI or XII, as XI was online only and looked dumb, to boot, and XII just kinda went under the radar, but this new one looks pretty sweet. May give it a whirl.

I've been excited about this for such a long time but from what I can see it looks horribly linear :(

I kind of had the feeling FFXIII was going to be linear. After playing FFXII, which wasn't open world like some of the more classic FF's, somehow I kind of expected the next iteration was going to be similar or more restricted.
I enjoyed FFXII, and I'm considering getting FFXIII.
I mean after 13+ games, I'm kind of glad Square is trying to do something different to keep the series fresh.
Which is probably why I enjoyed XII, and never played X and X-2.

Yeah I spoke to a friend who loves FF games as I do and he said it's very linear but he's still enjoying it. I think I'm gonna give it a miss really... I'll wait until there's something like FFVII on a current console, that'd be awesome! :)
