Streaming video on P-book G4

My powerbook g4 (with 2gb of RAM) has lots of trouble playing streamed videos, from youtube, megavideo and BBC iplayer. The internet connection is fine, as the videos work on my flatmates PC. Does anyone know why this would be?

What's the processor and video card in that G4?

Some of those G4s are getting long in the tooth for play back of today's graphics.

Its 1.33ghz and i think that the card is this, which i found in the graphics section in about my mac, though i dont know what it means. -- ATY,RV360M11

ok thanks,

well I think the video card is 64 MB Mobility Radeon 9700, which i got from the code above, not really sure though. It is a 15" powerbook g4, with increased RAM to 2GB, with a 1.33ghz processor.

Dude, my gf/I have the same laptop, and a lot of streaming sites are choppy and not worth to watch.

I've yet to find a remedy. Apart from having EVERYTHING closed and only your browser running, and turning all the "high quality" settings for YouTube down to the minimums. It helps, but still agitating.

I had a 17inch Hi-res (2GB RAM) not too long ago, and even it had a horrible time with video.
