mail problem with gmail..

ih guys..things going great with my imac, I have been enjoying mail very much after seamlessly adding my gmail and hotmail accounts.

however, since last night, mail won't send or receive my gmail for some reason. it has been showing the little star thing all day long...I have manually checked my gmail .

mail is downloading and sending hotmail as normal.

whats up with the gmail? should I reset it and try again?

( how do i change the settings on it?)

it's really frustrating lol.

however, I did fix this problem and thought I'd reply to myself incase it is of help to anyone who has the same problem in the future.

I simply deleted my gmail account and it's contents from mail, and then re-added it.

it's a slog and took all night for the messages to download, but the only solution that came to mind!

Do you have it setup as imap?
