I have switched lately to snow leopard. I have 2 external HDD (connected through network) which I can only format in XFS (one I can format in FAT32 too). I use them as archive (the one is a backup of the other one). Now if I copy a folder from the drive to my Imac to work in it and then copy it back to the drive (overwrite previous folder), I get the message that it cannot write to the drive (error -36). Also the copy process freezes and also the finder blocks and then I have to resart the Imac.
So simply put, I cannot overwrite a folder which I previously copied from the external HDD. On my previous mac, with leopard 10.5, there was no problem with the XFS format and the same process. Is this a bug in snow or has apple dropped the support for this format?
