Should I use Journaled or Regular on my HD?

I got my 1TB in today and put it in the ICY Dock external enclosure. I was going to format it using disk utility. I usually just do the MAC OS X and leave it at that, but since I am starting 100% fresh could you tell me the difference in the choices of formatting options. I have:
1. MAC OS Extended (Journaled)
2. MAC OS Extended
3. MAC OS Extended (Case-sensitive Journaled)
4. MAC OS Extended (Case-sensitive)
