downloading widgets

i've downloaded and installed a few widgets. my question is do i have to put the .wdgt anywhere its in the same folder as my downloaded programs. is this ok. should i put it where my applications are?

Just double click the widget file, and it should install and place a copy of itself in the appropriate spot, and then just delete it.

what is the appropriate spot for a widget. i know that applications go into applications but where do widgets go...

User/ Library/ Widgets is where they are stored. Keep the questions coming!

Widgets go automatically into dashboard if you have tiger
to find it go to spotlight and you can trace it down.
