detecting screen resolutions

Hi.... just can`t find a solution that fixes this problem on my beige G3 233 desktop. Got a Multiscan 720 17" monitor connected and the only resolution i get in the monitors control panel is 640x480. The machine is running system 9.1 and has 2mb VRAM but i`m sure it should be capable of more resolutions than this.. I`ve seen various suggestions to this problem but none of them seem to fix it, any help would be appreciated.... Cheers

Hello. I am having the same problem on my eMac that I just put server 10.2.8 on. It does not want to get off of anything other than 640x480. It was working fine before the upgrade. I did try zapping the PRam, but that didn't work. Any other suggestions?
