iPhone as iTouch

If I purchase an iPhone but do not want the phone service at this time will it work just like the iTouch. For example will it still access WiFi so I can down load apps ect?

Yea mate it should do as long as you have access to wi-fi network

yes it will. why not just unlock it and use it as a pre paid so you still have the phone feature if ya need it :)

That's a good idea. How do you unlock it? After it is unlocked can I eventually use it with a conventional monthly service?

I just bought one and I just use a ATT go Phone sim card in mine and it works fine. However, I would have unlocked it to use T-Mobile, but I don't have any T-Mobile service in my area.:D

What about the price difference for the individual phone vs the phone with a plan. It seems as though phones by themselves are twice as much as ones with a plan.....

Is how they make there $ .. IMO all telco's world wide are a rip off, but if its something YOU need you have to pay for it somehow.
All my phones and even my internet is all pre-paid now. I dont give them a single $ more than i need to. Pay for what i use not pay for what i dont use ....

Mate its the way i have been for the last 18mths Had enuf of there "take no prisoners attitude" ... No dont blog as such, just have a page where i vent my emotions to myself .... lol
