Setting up a G5 for one that wants to use old stuff from G3 with 9 on it.
Is there any advantage between erasing into 2 partitions putting Tiger on one and 9 on the other OR will it be less drama for non techy to have one partition running Tiger with 9 on it as well.

If running 9 in Classic mode I'd stay with 1 partition.
If booting directly into 9, probably better with 2 partitions. That way less chance of messing with X system files in 9.
This is assuming it CAN boot directly into 9.

Keep with one partition, the G5 cannot boot OS 9 directly and can only run OS9 apps in classic mode.

You just need a copy of the OS9.2 System Folder at the root level of the hard drive

Make sure the G3 is fully up to date before copying over the system folder, it needs to be running 9.2.2, updaters for OS9 can be downloaded from Apple
