I knew exactly what I was getting into...this sick and twisted game of technology. I love my "new" Macbook Pro 15" unibody blah blah. It works great...but naturally 2 weeks after I bought it they came out w/ the same thing only guess what...it's battery lasts 8 hours. I have the previous generation now...the one with the "15 minute" battery life. It's horrific...and I really don't care as I already stated I knew exactly what I was getting into. It just sucks because I didn't care about speed or anything...just battery life...but I said screw it it's a mac I can deal with it...my other computer was a POS. Frankly it actually doesn't bother me as it's my first mac and the switch has been incredible...lets face it all I have to do is plug it in!

Either way...I was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the battery? Or buy a more powerful one for the same size...or even upgrade to the new one? Like I said before I have the Macbook right before the one they have now with the much improved battery life. At the end of the day I'm fine either way...these macs are awesome...it's just a convenience thing. Sorry for the legnth I just have that much free time to kill today. Your suggestions are appreciated.

The battery you currently have in your MBP should last for 3 hours or more if you care for it and follow Apple's instructions for calibration.

There are more powerful batteries that can be purchased but the ones I saw advertised were actually designed to be used externally, sort of like an additional power supply. Check here at: HyperMac External MacBook Battery and Car Charger to get some idea of what's available.

Regards.
