Hey, I'm a 3 wk old switcher to the MacBook Pro and I dl'ed Audacity for Mac with the LAMEMp3 encoder plugin and everything works fine, but how do I move everything from inside the DMG files onto the HD and without messing up the program so I can get the DMGs off the desktop? Thanks!

DMGs are disk image files. Basically, when you double-click on a DMG file, it "mounts" a virtual disk to your desktop. From there, you would either double-click the installer or drag the program (a .app file) over to the Applications folder to install it.

In this case, I believe Audacity is a normal .app file, so it can just be dragged and dropped onto the Applications folder to complete the install. Once you're done, you can then eject the disk image, by dragging it to the trash.
