I wouldn't buy a Netgear anything. Way too many horror stories there.

Yes, any 802.11 device will work just fine. My recommendation would be a D-Link DIR-655.

Netgear's can be problematic. Some work well but others have many issues. This one 54G Netgear that at one point I recommended to a friend locks up daily when it gets hot here (like 90º or so) and he has to put a fan right on the router to keep it from not hard locking. Same with the 54g Netgear I have here at my house. All summer long it locks every few days. I just use it as an access point and not a router. I would never want to depend on a router that locked that much!

If you read a lot of reviews on the net, they say that Netgear also has poor tech support.

CWA's recommendation is a good one. Great router.

+1 on the DIR-655. I have had one since the day it released and have not had one issue with it. It was pricier than all of the others at the time, but well worth it IMO.
