Easy way to move My Pictures albums to iPhoto ?

I'm going to be moving my digital images from my PC to a soon-to-be new iMac G5. I'll probably burn a dvd data disc of the picture folders (albums) within My Pictures, then insert this into the mac. Will iPhoto keep the file names and categorization in tact and basically replicate the file structure on the data disc? I'd like to avoid creating new albums in iPhoto, if possible.

yea, just drag and drop the albums from the disc to a new folder on your hd, name it anything, then open iphoto, click File>Import, find your stuff, and it'll import them and arrange them with all the names and data.

Great, thanks. Sounds easy enough.

Rather than file > import you can just drag and drop the pictures onto iPhoto.
