I just traded in my miniDP to VGA for a miniDP to DVI adapter and got a DVI cable to run to my external 20" LG 23043t monitor.
When i was using my miniDP to VGA, i had it hooked up to a KVM switch so i could switch between my PC and my MBP. The KVM was being difficult so i switched it out for the DVI since my monitor has a D-Sub and DVI-D connector and i can choose with "source" i want to view on the monitor.
I went and bought a DVI-D single link cable. My monitor doesn't even recognize the dvi link source and my macbook doesn't even recognize that an external monitor is hooked up. I tried clicking on "detect displays" and i get nothing. Did i purchase the wrong cable?
