Staples tried to do me wrong

So I go into staples today to look at digital cameras... I grab the flyer at the door, and see a nice 10MP Kodak advertised for $99USD. So I go to the camera isle to pick one up, and I see none. the clerk, who happened to be a manager, tells me "We actually don't carry that one, but we do have this one in stock, which has more features and blah blah". I told him "Yeah but its $159 vs the $99 I wanted to spend, nice bait n switch move!". Btw for those of you who arent from the US, bait and switch means they lure you into the store with an advertisement, and try to sell you a more expensive model...Most people don't realize that this method of sales is VERY illegal.

Anyways, I mentioned bait and switch as a joke, i really didnt care, and had no intention on spending the extra $60 and was just going to pick another cheap-o camera.

So yeah, he took me seriously, and said "Let me call my store manager", he walks to the phone at the end of the aisle and calls his manager.. I hear him telling him about me calling him out on bait and switch. After about 5 minutes, he walks over and says "I apologize for that, and my store manager has told me to go ahead and give you the next up model for the price of the one advertised."

Sooooo in the end, I got a new Kodak M381 (12MP with HD, 5x optical zoom, etc) for $99

Good on ya mate. Had similar with White MacBook. Advertised $900AUD Late 2007 model. I emailed asking ?'s and if i could drop in and have look at it. 2 days no reply and they took it off the site. I emailed a nasty one about bad customer service and unprofessional...... I didnt hold back and with in 8 hrs the Managing director emailed me back with a thousand apologies, and offered me the latest White MacBook for the same price. $1549 it retailed at and i got it for $900
Not quite a bait n switch move!!!! But a great deal...

Doesnt hurt to complain ..... Is why im a Mac owner now because of the $649 price cut ..... WOOHOOO

Yeah, now I'm thinking I probably could have taken it farther with some legal threats etc and gotten an even sweeter deal. But with my luck he would have called ME out on it at that point, and i would have screwed myself.

So yeah probably a good thing I left it at that and got my sweet camera for 99 bucks!
