Question on RAW img support for 10.4.11

Greetings all. I'm running OSX 10.4.11 on an '06 2Ghz Intel iMac, and can't seem to import RAW files via Image Capture 3.0.3, or iPhoto 6.0.6.

I'm shooting on a Canon G9, and recording images in both RAW and jpeg, but only the jpegs seem to show up upon import.

Am I not importing with the correct software, or do I need to upgrade to 10.5 Leopard or 10.6 Snow Leopard? Or is my Canon G9 simply not compatible/supported?

The G9 RAW support didn't make it in until the 10.5.2 update.

Here's the listing for 10.5 RAW support and when introduced.

Here is the Canon software for 10.4 & 10.5, did not use my G9 in 10.4, so not sure if that will support RAW or not with out 10.5.2, but that would be another alternative to look at.
