OK, Here is what I am debating on. I haven't had a new mac since the original Core Duo Macbook, so its time to upgrade!

I found locally on craigslist, in great condition, for $900USD, a 6 month old gently used still in warranty MacBook unibody, with 2.26Ghz, 4GB Ram, 250GB HD.

I am also looking at the new base model 13" MacBook Pro for $1199. with the 2.26Ghz 2GB Ram 160GB HD.

Seems like the older MacBook would be faster with more ram and memory for 300 less...

opinions needed. making the purchase of one of the two on Wednesday...

It's not a MacBook unibody. The only 2 processors that those came with were 2GHz and 2.4GHz. There is no 2.26GHz model

Looks like the model of the MB before it went Pro. In either case, if you don't need Firewire, or an SD card slot. I think it's a pretty good deal.

It is in fact a macbook, but the processor speed can't be 2.26GHz. It's either 2GHz or 2.4GHz.

thanks for the input guys, but decided to go with a new MBP from best buy.

I'm set on 13" for portability. will look at the specs they have in stock and choose one when im there. Going tomorrow. Decided I'd rather pay a little extra and get the brand new one, without having to wait for shipping.

Nice. I just got called back for a second interview at my local best buy. We don't sell Macs there, but that's okay. My friend who used to work for them seems to think I'm a lock for the job since I got the call back. Apparently the employee discounts are sweet too. I wonder if they extend to Apple products. If so, 64GB ipod touch, here I come.
