Well if Father's Day in Australia is what it takes - since your yesterday is our today - wife just walked in and says she wants to get an iMac to replace her 7 yr old Dell this morning.

Yeah, now all I have to do is decide whether to get one that will do for what she does with a computer - $1200 - or get the one I would get for myself - $2250

Only problem is, can't give her my old one. Sold it a couple of months ago because I hadn't used it in over a year. Hers is the last one in the house. (The HTPC doesn't count.) And I've never touched her computer except to "fix it".

I've gotten too use to sitting in the recliner and have absolutely no inclination of going back to sitting at a desk to use a computer at home. A 24" screen would be nice for Aperture though instead of my 15". Don't need the GT120 for that much less the HD 4850. But, am having a hard time pushing the buy button for a machine with a 9400M that can't be changed out.

Besides, with the money I'd save on the lower end I could put another couple of TBs in the server and get some software I've been eyeing. Well, tbh, I'll probably get those anyway.
