Hi

Am just wondering if anyone knows how to do this. Am a very newbie with macs :)

Have managed to download my photos into iPhoto - setting up my phone as a mass storage device.

Seem to be struggling with the vids. I've tried downloading into iMovie but it doesn't seem to recognise the files?

Is there a better pre-installed app to use?

I just (initially) want to be able to view these (I think) mp4 files on my macbook.

You need to know what format it is taking.

If QuickTime Player isn't working, you could try VLC for playback or installing Perian for a possible decoder that will work with QuickTime Player.

Hi

From the Samsung website - it records in mpeg4/3gpp

I've managed to transfer files using Finder > then searching for all video (at the bottom), but strangely using the folder menu in the top part of finder it wouldn't identify any files.

The files I've copied across work fine in QuickTime.

Are there any other apps which would help with transfer?

I looked all over the Samsung site and even the manual, and I couldn't figure out the recording format.

If the files play in QuickTime, then do a Command-I to see the codecs being used.

I'm not sure what to suggest if they do need converting. There have been many many discussions here about converting video. The easiest thing to do might be to just purchase a QuickTime Pro license and perform an Export from that.
