PowerBook G4 400mHz, still kicking!
I am currently looking to run CATIA v5 on a new 3.06gHz iMac with 512MB ATI Radeon 4850 video card, but cannot find enough online or from my co-workers on whether this will work reliably or not.

I contacted the Apple Store to confirm the upgrade configuration for the intentions of running Catia V5 (64-bit) which should accomodate any future release of Catia or even Unigraphics. I guess I should verify Unigraphics 64-bit can be run on BootCamp Windows-Snow Leopard has the capabilities built in. Technical Support ran thru all the spec and proffered the Mac Pro Tower as a consideration since it has the ability to run four video cards, upgradable memory, and already has a 3.06 intel quad processor (upgradeable too). Is this necessary?

The biggest issue I have now is that Apple Product Specialist stated only the Macbook Pro and Mac Pro (tower) will support BootCamp Windows 64-bit... NOT the iMac (it never will). Is this true?

Do I just run the 32-bit and not worry about it? The whole idea with this purchase is to be able to use Catia V5 at home to be able to practice.

Is there anybody with experience running CATIA v5 on their Mac, any machine, and if so what kind? Anybody with an iMac? Is this a purchase that I will regret and wish I had gone with a Windows PC? Thanks!
