wondering if anyone can help me here..

I recently bought a power mac (MDD) dual 1.25 to replace my old
power mac 450. The monitor I use is a Gateway 17" EV700.
I had to buy a DVI to VGA adapter for it to work on the new computer.
It works fine but for some reason it hurts my eyes while looking at the monitor
while hooked up to the newer computer. Same monitor/different computer.

Does anybody know why the same monitor used would hurt my eyes on one computer and not the other?

thanks

Try going into System Preferences > Displays and reducing the brightness there on the sliding scale to something less bright. Also you can play about with the resolutions until things are just right.
