is there a way to overclock/hack a LCD screen to display a res. higher then its native res.?

And honestly, displaying anything outside of the native resolution on an LCD is a bad idea. The LCD is designed and built with a certain number of lcd lights so it works perfectly at the resolution it was designed to show. That's why other resolutions look horrible on an LCD vs a CRT.

ok thanks i think ill stick with my CRT for a wile [i have a 15 inch samsung that looks like crap on mac due to not being able to display a high enough res.
