hi im new to the forum. im debating on either buying a new mbp 13" or getting the old aluminum mb as a refurb. theres a couple hundred diff in $$ let me know whats the better choice is

The refurbs are fine, in fact you can look at it as them being through quality control twice.

You still have your full warranty on a refurb so you have nothing to loose (in fact, as you say - you stand to save $100s)

listening to tons of music use a little bit of imovie but besides that just the basics. word processing keynote etc...internet of course youtube

also im using my education discount so i can get a base macbook pro 13" for 1099 before customizing it or a macbook for 949 stock

You shouldn't need a pro for that but if you can afford the 13" pro, I would say go for it.

ya thats what im leaning towards. i gotta save the money first so it prob wont be till november. by then snow leopard will be out so ya. thanks
